Sodomite Marriage Dissenters

Chief Justice John Roberts, along with Justices Samuel Alito, Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas dissented, and all wrote separate dissents:

Alito wrote...

“Today’s decision usurps the constitutional right of the people to decide whether to keep or alter the traditional understanding of marriage.”

Roberts said...

“If you are among the many Americans—of whatever sexual orientation—who favor expanding same-sex marriage, by all means celebrate today’s decision. Celebrate the achievement of a desired goal. Celebrate the opportunity for a new expression of commitment to a partner. Celebrate the availability of new benefits. But do not celebrate the Constitution. It had nothing to do with it,” Roberts wrote.

Scalia wrote...

..his dissent to call attention to this Court’s threat to American democracy.

“Today’s decree says that my Ruler, and the Ruler of 320 million Americans coast-to-coast, is a majority of the nine lawyers on the Supreme Court. The opinion in these cases is the furthest extension in fact—and the furthest extension one can even imagine—of the Court’s claimed power to create “liberties” that the Constitution and its Amendments neglect to mention. This practice of constitutional revision by an unelected committee of nine, always accompanied (as it is today) by extravagant praise of liberty, robs the People of the most important liberty they asserted in the Declaration of Independence and won in the Revolution of 1776: the freedom to govern themselves,” Scalia wrote.

Thomas wrote...

“Aside from undermining the political processes that protect our liberty, the majority’s decision threatens the religious liberty our Nation has long sought to protect.”

  1. They are all right and all, in some way or another, hit the most important point to take from this decision. The Supreme Court has unlawfully usurped and assumed powers it does not have. It has done this frequently and habitually grants the federal government powers it does not have.

Republicans, as usual, accept this as a done deal and want to distract us with arguments about civil unions, religious liberty, constitutional amendments and basically anything but "gay marriage". They are too cowardly to do what must be done. because more than anything, they want to be elected and get their hands on the money and power.

The Supreme Court needs a housecleaning. Four justices should be impeached and convicted for their repeated unlawful behavior and crimes, flagrant disregard for the Constitution and failing to honor their oath of office. What they have done is criminal and tyrannical. It is not a mere difference of opinion or simple matter of interpretation. It is deliberately dishonest and inherently evil. They are no good and should not be on the court.

If these judges are not punished for what they have done and their decisions are not reversed by conviction, the pattern will be more frequently repeated by all who follow them, confident they can do as they please. Twisting the constitution becomes a court sport and we become the subjects of an elitist ruling class.

The only other alternative is nullification. Amending a document judges twist to suit their own desires is a losing battle. They can twist them faster than the pols can pass them. They have shredded a constitution written by truly gifted men. Our Founders have no equals today in honor and integrity. Can you imagine the crap constitution todays politicians would write? Leftie judges would love it.

Either congress "fixes" the court or the states defy it or we do what must be done.

  2. My (attorney) friend said that the Supreme Court is nothing more than another government bureaucracy, which exists to expand governments reach and increase its power.

Until the citizens have finally had enough.
