So, the police chief of Washington D.C.( let me give you her name, so you will know who this ditzy bozo is: Cathy Lanier, former pom-pom girl, I suspect) is encouraging citizens to "take out" shooters rather than waiting for the cops to get there.
Sounds like reasonable advice to most of us...except for one thing:
She refuses to issue permits for concealed carry to the very citizens she is encouraging to face down criminals who have guns.
HUH??
Yes, as a D.C. resident, apparently you are supposed to "stand up!", "face down!" and "take out" armed criminal/terrorist shooters...without have any weapons of your own.
She doesn't, as you can imagine, explain how, exactly, one is supposed to do that.
God, I hate these people.

During the "Great patriotic War" Stalin ordered "not one step back" The NKVD took this to mean that they could use the bodies of unarmed military and civilians , in human wave attacks, to "soak up", German ammunition in loo of a major assault. The survivors were shot by the NKVD unless the could bring back a German dog tag. This saves ware & tear on your "elite" units. Eliminates the possibility of both hostages and witnesses, and cuts down on the "useless eaters". It also sows fear into your own enforcers , telling them in no uncertain way that: "No matter how bad you THINK it is, we can always make things worse" . It also allows for the abandonment of "lessor persons" if the "boss" dictates...... See any similarity?------Ray
